園庭の倒木を修理していると子どもたちが、「何しよるん」「それなに？」「やってみたいな」「手伝おうか？」と声を掛けてくれます。物珍しい道具を使っている事もあり好奇心を掻き立てるようです。
続けているとたくさん集まってきて、「自分もやってみたいなぁ」「かわってよ」と並ぶ姿があります。順番がスムーズに行く事もあれば、そうでない事もありますが、どちらにしても興味津々な子どもたちです。
保育教諭からすると修理という「お仕事」ですが、子どもたちからすると「砂遊び」「鬼ごっこ」「サッカー」と同じで、「遊び」＝「楽しい」と感じているようです。
お仕事も遊びになってしまう子どもたちは頼もしいと感じます。手伝いながら環境を自分に取り入れて行く大切な姿でもあります。

When repairing the balancing logs in the garden, the children asked me, “What are you doing?” “What is that?” “I want to try it.” So I replied, “Would you like to help?”
It seemed to arouse their curiosity because I was using interesting tools.
As I continued, a lot of them came together and lined up saying things like “I want to try it myself,” and “It’s my turn.” Sometimes the order goes smoothly, sometimes it doesn’t, Either way, the children are curious.
From the perspective of the teacher, it’s a repair job, but from the perspective of children, it is just another game. The same as playing in the sand, tag or soccer, and it seems that play equals fun. Children who help out, even playfully feel reliable. It is also an important role to play for yourself, helping out on the playground,
