Sky Class（３歳児クラス）は、「Sharing The Planet （この地球を共有するということ）」というIBのテーマで、１年間をかけて探究します。
春、園庭のダンゴムシや草花に関心をもち、園庭を探して回ったり、図鑑で名前を調べたりしました。
夏の初めに、大野自然観察の森に行き、いろいろな生き物に出会うことができました。モリアオガエルの卵を見たり、ヒキガエルやヘビを触ったりしました。
指導員さんから、「生き物を飼うときには、お世話をしないと死んでしまうよ」という大切なことを教えてもらいました。
ご近所の方からカエルの卵をいただいたので飼い方など、いろいろなことを調べてみました。飼い始めると、卵からオタマジャクシがかえり、餌やりや水替えのお世話をするとオタマジャクシから、足と手が出て小さなカエルに・・・。変態を実際に見ることができました。
「カエルも飼いたい」「カエルは何を食べるの？」「生きた虫しか食べないんだって」「つかまえられないからどうする？」「逃がしてあげよう」と子どもたちなりに調べて話し合って決めました。
大野自然観察の森の秋は、ベニマンサクなどの紅葉がとてもきれいで夏とは違った趣になります。
ぜひ、訪問したいと思っています。

Sky Class (3-year-olds) will spend the year exploring the IB theme “Sharing The Planet.”
In spring, they became interested in pill bugs and plants in the garden, searching around the grounds and looking up names in picture books.
Early summer, we visited Ono Nature Observation Forest and encountered many creatures. We saw Japanese tree frog eggs and touched toads and snakes.
The instructor taught us an important lesson: “When you keep a creature, if you don’t take care of it, it will die.”
A neighbor gave us frog eggs, so we researched how to care for them. Once we started keeping them, the eggs hatched into tadpoles. As we fed them and changed their water, the tadpoles developed legs and arms, transforming into tiny frogs… We actually witnessed metamorphosis.
“I want to keep frogs too!” “What do frogs eat?” “I heard they only eat live insects!” “But we can’t catch them, so what should we do?” “Let’s set them free!” The children researched, discussed, and decided on their own.
Autumn at Ono Nature Observation Forest is beautiful, with the vibrant red leaves of plants like the Japanese spindle tree creating a different charm from summer.
We definitely want to visit.
