- 小動物が立ち寄り居つく園庭に
園庭には３０センチの真砂土を敷き詰めています。そしてその下には水捌けをよくする為に砂利を敷き詰めています。
これで水遊びが思いっきりできる環境になりました。色々な遊具を置き、大きな木も植えていますから綺麗な園庭になりました。ですが子どもたちが遊び込む為にはもう一味足りないように感じています。
開園して２ヶ月くらい経った頃から大きな木の根元に土筆と雑草がほんの少し生えました。木の根元に種がついていたのでしょう。見つけた時、フルムーン第一号の植物だ！と嬉しく思いました。
３ヶ月目に入り畑が定着。それと共に、アリ、カメムシ、バッタ、アゲハチョウ、モンシロチョウ、アキアカネ、アマガエル、ケムシ、ツチガエル。野鳥では、セキレイの仲間や土鳩の群れも立ち寄るようになりました。裏にある田圃には、２羽のカルガモが餌探しにやって来ます。
そして園庭一杯に広がる倒木の杭には、幼虫ですがオオカマキリの姿を見ることができました。
少しづつ確認し、大切にする積み重ねで地域の自然が園庭内に広がって行き一味加わった環境になります。
In the garden where small animals stop by:
The garden is covered with 30 cm of decomposed granite soil with underlying gravel to improve drainage. It provides an environment where you can play in the water to your heart’s content. We put up various playsets and planted big trees, to create a beautiful garden. However, I still feel that it is not enough for the children.
About two months after the park opened, a few horsetails and other weeds started growing at the base of the large tree. The seeds must have been at the base of the tree when it was planted. I was actually happy to see weeds as they were the first plants to grow in our garden.
In the third month, life in the field is settling in: ants, stink bugs, grasshoppers, swallowtail butterflies, cabbage white butterflies, dragonflies, tree frogs, caterpillars, and wrinkled frogs all call the garden their home. Wild birds such as wagtails and rock pigeons have also come to stop by. Two spot-billed ducks come to look for food in the rice fields behind and on the fallen trees in the garden, I found some mantis larvae. We’re checking little by little and cherishing the nature of the area that is spreading into the garden and adding to the natural environment around us.
